A worked example

A home game with 5,000 starting chips, 15-minute levels and a two-hour target: enter those numbers in the generator and choose the big-blind ante. You get a schedule opening at 25/50 with a break every fourth level and an ante from level 5. Press Start clock: the big countdown shows the current level, with the next blinds and the next break underneath. If a late arrival is still registering and you want to wait a little, tap +5 min.

How to use

Pick a template, or enter a starting stack, minutes per level and target length to generate a schedule, then adjust blinds, antes and breaks level by level. Press Start clock for the full-screen timer, built for a phone or tablet propped on the table or a laptop on a TV. The clock pauses, steps back and forward and adds or removes time. Shortcuts: Space pauses, Left and Right change level, plus and minus add or remove a minute, F toggles full screen and M toggles the sound. The clock data stays on this device and survives a reload.

Assumptions & limits

The generator finds an opening big blind from your starting stack divided by the starting big-blind multiple, then climbs the 1, 1.5, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 ladder. The small blind is always half the big blind, and the ante can be none, equal to the big blind or about one eighth of it. The clock runs on the device’s system time, so it stays accurate while the tab is in the background or the screen is off, though a phone that suspends the page only catches up when you return to it. Screen wake lock needs browser support, and the sound needs one tap on the page to unlock.
