Choose who fronted the money and who splits it. Whoever fronted it is paid back in the settlement; choosing Nobody only deducts from the people splitting it.
Fill in every player’s final chips to see the transfers.
One buy-in is 100. Amy bought in once and ends with 340 (up 240); Ben bought in twice and ends with 60 (down 140); Cara bought in once and ends with 0 (down 100); Dan bought in once and ends with 100 (even). Buy-ins total 500 and cash-outs total 500, so it balances. Settling directly takes two transfers: Ben pays Amy 140 and Cara pays Amy 100. With Dan as banker, Ben and Cara each pay Dan and Dan pays Amy 240: three transfers, but everyone deals with one person.
